Fill'er Up!

(Written: October 16, 2017)

Today is my day off. As I was standing in line of my favorite coffee establishment and ready to sit down and do some writing. Starbucks of course!. I heard someone say fill 'er up! This got me thinking. You see, none of us need settle for less than a full cup. What is your desire my friend? Is it greater income, a meaningful relationship, peace of mind? The question is, are you settling for less than the fullest experience? So often I believe we do settle for less, thinking, "I guess I had better be satisfied with what I can get." This reminds me of a visit I made a while back to my eye doctor. When she changes all those lenses in that funny machine, many of them seem just fine, don't they? I even said at one point, "Yes, that's perfect." But the doctor suggested one more change. Guess what? It was the best for me. What was so startling to me as I thought about it, was that I was willing to settle for less than the best. Ernest Holmes said how we often look through a knothole with the obviously limited view and pretty soon our vision is limited to the knothole. I think my friend how many times do we settle for the smaller when we could have the greater. But we must believe we can have more and then act upon our belief. Yes, those little words, "Fill 'er up!" does mean more than just putting more coffee into our mugs. The universe is prepared to give us all we can take. How much are you prepared to take, and how much are you prepared to give? See you at the coffee shop and have a great day!

Peace and Abundant Blessings always!
